If you’ve been following my blog you know that at the Eustache Institute we specialize in neurofeedback therapy. However, an additional treatment we proudly provide is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), which involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, allowing our lungs to gather more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. Our blood will then carry the oxygen throughout our body and our organs, helping to fight bacteria while stimulating the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing. For instance, just like neurofeedback therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is noninvasive, highly effective and treats a variety of illnesses and conditions such as, but not limited to, Alzheimer’s, brain trauma, addiction (detox) insomnia and anxiety, and is extremely beneficial when it comes to skincare (rejuvenation, anti-aging, reduces acne). Additionally, it can increase athletic performance and aid in the healing process of post-cosmetic surgery, wound healing and infections.
There are several diverse hyperbaric oxygen chambers on the market that numerous healthcare professionals can select from, however, at the Eustache Institution; we’ve custom designed ours to fit the needs of our current and future patients, keeping in mind that many people suffer from claustrophobia and anxiety. Our chamber is soft, comfortable and designed to treat one person at a time, allowing for privacy—which many patients expect and desire. When treatment begins, we set the air pressure two or three times above our normal everyday air pressure, but less than the air pressure found on an airplane. As the patient rests comfortably in the chamber they inhale an abundance of pure-oxygen, which speeds and multiplies the absorption of Oxygen molecules to damaged and impaired tissues. Therefore, naturally guiding a patient’s healing process. For a good number of patients, and this will depend on the health condition they’re being treated for, a therapy session can last up to two hours and may require from 20 to 40 sessions.
For the past fifty years this method of treatment, which is approved by the FDA in numerous cases has effectively treated people with various symptoms, and sadly, Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment and its beneficial healing process it provides is still relatively unknown to a majority of people. With that being said, if you’re interested in learning more about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), please contact my office to arrange for a consultation. In the meantime, below are a list of health conditions and diseases that Hyperbaric Oxygen is proven to treat.
